Im very new to flying quads and want to learn as much as i can. Its very addicting. I have no lipo experience at all and have no clue what i should get. I have a Walkera runner 250 which comes with a 11.1 v 2200mah 25c 3s.
What is a good replacement battery to get , Theres alot to choose from and i reallly dont want to waste my money. Any info or tips are greatly appreciated.

Use original Walkera batteries they are better quality and perform better than equal size batteries.

The first thing you need to buy is a LiPo Checker / Balancer / Discharger.

SKYRC LiPoPal Self Voltage Balancer 2-6S LiPo For Battery Voltage Checker

As for a charger. The best is a Graupner Polaron EX1400 but you need to find an adequate power supply for it.

This is the second best a combo

    Graupner Polaron EX Charger Combo

If these are out of you price bracket.

    This is OK.

    G.T.Power A8 150W 7A Intelligent Lipo Battery Balance Charger

It is AC powered, has Storage Charge. etc.

    Some basics.

Charge batteries at a max of 1C Batteries have a C rating. Its a rating that is based on its mah capability.

    A 20C 2200mah battery has a max current output of 20 x 2.200A = 44A

    A 25C 2200mah battery has a max current output of 25 x 2.200A = 55A

    You would charge both of these at 1C 1 x 2.2 = 2.2A

    • Never discharge a LiPo battery below 3.7 V per cell under load. It Shortens its life. (Thats 3 x 3.7V = 11.1V for a 3S battery.)
    • Never discharge a LiPo battery below 3.3 V per cell under load. It Dramatically Shortens its life. (Thats 3 x 3.3V = 9.9V for a 3S battery.)
    • Never discharge a LiPo battery below 3.0 V per cell under load. It is Instantly Destroyed. (Thats 3 x 3.0V = 9V for a 3S battery.)
    • Never leave a battery fully charged or discharged in storage for over 3 months. Use the storage charge facility of the battery charger charge it to 3.8V per cell.

    Cheers Brian

I think it will be better that you think about the quality of the charger.
You know, you get what you pay for. In earlier times I also started with cheap chargers and I destroyed some batteries a lot.
I do not now which brand in USA are great, I have charger of Lipo Battery and this here.
