How do you think the Vitus will stack up against the Mavic?

What are your thoughts on the new DJI Spark? Looks like a fun little drone.

Looks great. I ordered a fly more combo as soon as they were released.

You need the combo to get the remote control.

I also preordered 2 DJI Goggles while they were still pre-orderable. Should arrive mid june.

Sweet, you will certainly have to let me know what you think of it after having some hands on time. Hopefully Walkera will have something similar down the road.

Vitus Is on Walkera store now at price $799. Only $200 less than Mavic! This doesn't look like an attractive price. It's still has a big gap with Mavic and many software problems still not fixed. Especially the Walkera Drone App still not working well on Android device. Will be considerable if around $600.

Had big issues with the Spark when I first got it. Its as the first time I crashed a DJI drone.

DJI have made a huge blunder on the default settings of the controller using 5.8Ghz WiFi. It uses the Full 5.8 band doing frequency hopping to defeat interference.

Unfortunately the 5.8 Band is different in all countries as generally only part of the band is available.

So if you have a country compliant iDevice. The controller will shift to frequencies that are not supported by the idevice.

The upshot of this is that the controller gets interrupted from 1 second to 5 seconds while the controller finds a frequency that the iDevice supports.

So if you throttle up and then lose connection for 5 seconds. you can understand what happens.

My first flight was indoors and when I throttled up it went up to the ceiling and tried to eat a hole through the gyprock. I chopped the throttle and after a few seconds it responded and descended to 2 metres. Then when I pulled back on the elevator it flew across the room and crashed into the wall. I could not stop it.

I eventually found that there was an undocumented flight mode where you could connect a OTG cable to the controller and then wire the iDevice directly like you do the Mavic.

    Then it was fine.

DJI are now recommending to force the controller and drone to use 2.4 Ghz. by manual forcing the bind.

I see that the use of the 5.8 band has lots of international issues to address. I suspect that this is an issue for the Aibao and Potentially the Vitas.

    Cheers Brian

I received a Vitus and as usual with Walkera last product, all the last android devices I tested were not able to see the 5G/5.8G WiFi... The more scandalous is the non-presence of a USB tethering port .... So crap from walkera .... As far I know iPhone 6s and more works with .... but I tried with a lot Samsung galaxy tab, phones and Xiaomi without success

Thanks SeByDocKy I suspected that this would be an issue with the Vitas.

    Hi.

I received mine last week and I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S2 tablet with adroid 7.0 and no problem with the connection to the app.
