    Hi all!

When I bought my Scout I bought two batteries. I have hardly used it and have flown it only a few times. I just started to work with it again as I want to do some filming. I have one battery that swelled up in the bird and the only way I could get it out was to chill it in the refrig. I let it stay there over night and in the morning it came right out.

My question is the batteries are so expensive can I rebuild the battery? Can anyone give me details on how to take the battery apart as I don't want to break anything. Can the inner battery be replaced with a battery that I can get like on hobbyking?

Any help would be great. Thanks

The batteries are not reparable. They have an unusual density for size that you can't find unless you buy them in batches of 1,000 from the battery manufacturer. I have tried.

You most likely stored the battery at full charge.

With all lipos they can only sit for longer than 2 weeks if they are at half change 50%.

If you store above this they will swell and the chemistry breaks down and becomes unusable.

    You need to buy replacements.

I suggest that you buy a decent charger that does storage charges. (Either discharges or charges the battery to the correct voltage for storage).

    Cheers Brian

Can you give me directions on how to get the battery out of the housing. I don't know where to start the disassemble as I don't want to break the housing. I may be able to get replacement batteries.

You have to lever off the display end there are clips you can see if you look close enough.

You then have to crack open the case it is glued.

I doubt you will find a battery the correct size and mah rating but if you do post it here.

    Cheers Brian
