    Hello!
I'm about $100 short of purchasing the Runner 250 Advance drone along with a 5" FPV moniter.

I'm fairly new to drones and am excited to fly. I live in Indiana so I figured nearby cornfields would be a great place to fly.

I just want to know-Is there anything I should know before I purchase this product? Also, is there a waterproof/shockproof case that will fit the Runner 250 Advance?

Purchase a bunch of extra props. Take baby steps when learning how to fly it...be patient or you may be buying a bunch of new parts to fix it. Also, get a good LiPo battery charger. I went from taking 2-2.5 hours to charging a battery with the stock charger to less than an hour with a good charger. Also get a good set of hex drivers, MIP 1.5mm and 2.0mm, because the hex driver that was supplied with the runner250 is junk and rounds off. Take your time to read and follow the steps in the manual. It is very important to get the settings correct for both the Runner250 and Devo7. Hopefully yours will have firmware 1.2 already on it but if not do the upgrade...my runner250 advance is much more stable when flying after the firmware update. Expect the unexpected and read these forums for great advice and tips. Good Luck!

How much experience do you have in flying RC aircraft? If you are new to the hobby the Runner Advance will have you in tears.

Its an aerobatic racing drone and beginners will crash many times before they gain enough skills to really enjoy its capabilities.

Its not like flying a DJI Phantom. My 5 year old granddaughter can fly a Phantom. I have been flying for 40 years and I have crashed my runners a couple of times with the Dreaded FOD.

Load Walkera's FlyConfig software on your computer and install the appropriate driver for your computer to be able to attach the runner 250 via the USB port. The software is available as a download from the Walkera website. When you load the FlyConfig software, make sure you select the correct COM port and baud rate (don't click on connect). Then, click on the firmware button at the top of the screen. Then on the first line/box click on the ?? icon and it should show you the firmware version you are running.

On your TX you have a 3 position switch on the right side of the TX that is your flight switch. It is in the manual. On the F7 and others it is labeled as MIX.

Old firmware in Position 0 of the MIX switch was GPS flight
New Firmware in Position 0 is manual flight.
