After messing with this for a while I found that if I move the slider switch on the battery to on, then
turn on the transmitter, then hold the push button to power the voyager 3, it will bind

Yes that is the required procedure for all Smart batteries from Walkera. It maximises the bind window.

I thought I had mentioned that in this thread already it must be in a different thread. Sorry.:(

Have you fixed the rear landing gear servo?

    Cheers

Thats interesting. It is suggesting that the wiring is failing rather than the servo motor.

I would like to understand his reasoning?

    Cheers

My thinking is that the motor is not getting enough amps and will not turn the worm, resulting in the motor burning up
that is the fastest rear gear
that is my guess and only a guess

But if the motor is not getting enough amps to turn the worm then the motor is not getting enough amps to burn up.
Otherwise it would burn up with the "enough amps" to turn the worm.

I went back and had a look at his explanation and he says the first time it blew the BEC. So he moved the wires to the camera power. Not sure what thats going to achieve.

So this sounds more like the general walkera retract issues with the worm gear jamming and then the BEC / FCs etc are burning out. Most people just put a fuse in cct to prevent the burnout.

But the Important thing for you is that most likely it is not the Worm drive that has burnt out but something else on you Voyager.

I guess the only way to really test it would be for you to manual extend the leg and try and fly the Voyager.

Good luck with resolving the problem with your supplier.

    Cheers

The "burnt" smell typically indicates a burned-out servo. It can happen when the servo is mechanically impeded when the landing gear is either lowering or opening. Once it burns out, it cannot be repaired, only replaced. You might be able to find a replacement servo on MyRCVision.com — Parts for Voyager 3 Walkera.
