Hey everyone. My name is Hugo, I am new to drones and the Walkera 150 is my first ever purchase. I am very happy with it and flying FPV is AWESOME!!

I know building a custom setup is the way to go but I am not ready for that yet. Once I have a good feel for the sport I will build my own setup. I repair electronics part time so soldering, micro soldering, running wires etc is not an issue and I have all the required tools to get the job done.

My question is this...what do you guys think of this landing gear? I don't feel that the stock one really gave me enough clearance due to living in a very rural area. So smooth flat surfaces are hard to come by. Unless I am taking off from a picnic table or something similar I am always taking off from grass. I wanted something that gave me a little more clearance for grass and would also potentially give me the room if I did was to print out the battery door to put in an extended battery. I designed this yesterday and printed them out this morning. So...what do you guys think?[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Hi mate, welcome to the forum.

Whilst they are very cool looking I'd say personally that they are too tall. I can see them getting snagged on landing and possibly doing some damage.

Thanks Rosspa. I was thinking about potentially shortening them a bit. As they sit right now they are about 0.5 inches longer than the originals.

when crashing with the OEM feet, they fold under. this saves the arms being twisted

i would stick with standard and then use something like tie wraps to add height

What do you mean "fold under" ? The feet on the one I received do not fold. Are they supposed to?

not on purpose no - but thats the weak point rather than breaking the arms

I think I know what you mean about the feet. I will see how it goes. It all grass and sand around me there's not a lot of pavement or hard surfaces to do major impact damage when landing. Unless of course I lose control of it and fly it into the ground which i can prob see myself doing. Once I get comfortable with it all I will be attempting to build a drone. Just not yet.

don't put too much time into modding as once hooked you will be moving on up :)

I have 9 batteries now (4 still in box) and a Diatone Carbon frame to mount the internals of the 150 to but..... maybe some time ;)

Very good design and they are an appropriate height for flying off grass.

Mavic Pros have the same problems and there are lots of landing leg extensions for them as well.

These would work very well in longer grass.

    Cheers Brian
