I would not follow his settings.

The bit that he didn't show and where you have most likely gone wrong is he didn't show how to set the dual rate switch to activate the curve.

And also remember that he is flying an F210. His settings would be bad on a GPS based drone.

I would be setting the points either side of the mid point to flatten out the hover with expo 35%.

The problem is navigation on the Devo 7.

Its easier to visualise on the more expensive units. :(

Its very hard to talk you through.

Tell me what you are trying to do. I will program a blank model config with just a throttle curve and send it to you.

Then you can review the settings.

    Would that work?

    Brian,

I want to try to make the throttle handle less aggresive when im around mid position so its easier to control.
Dont own the program tool for the devo so hoped u could explain it on writing....
Watched the above tutoriol and i think i know what to do, but u said he forgot somethings in his video.

I had this set up on mine so when I hit the d/r switch the motors spun up to 5% so when you cut the throttle the bird does not act all erratic, however after having to reset my devo7 I lost my throttle curve and cant re-program it for love nor money!!! looking in cleanflight it seems that the d/r switch is not doing anything, i'd sure like to have my throttle curve back too!

The D/R switch is a logic switch in the transmitter. It does not extend to the RX or to Cleanflight.
